The church in Suchitoto, El Salvador that is located right on the main square. For most visitors to Suchitoto this church is both dominant part of your initial view of the city square and also the dominant sound you will hear in the city (the bells at least).
After its political instability in the recent past, El Salvador's tourist market is emerging. If you're looking for an "authentic" experience, El Salvador is definitely a great way to go, although tourist services aren't quite as cushy as neighboring Honduras and Guatemala. If you're headed to El Salvador, taking some Spanish classes is a great idea, since English-speakers are hard to find.
