3rd Period Matrix- 4/11

Class Activities:

-Students practiced completing sentences with preterite past tense verbs.
-Students learned a new way to express past tense verbs: imperfect tense. We discussed the difference between these verbs. In simple terms, preterite is used to speak about a specific point in time (He walked through the door). Imperfect is used to paint a picture of an ongoing action in the past (She was sitting in the chair). We will talk more about these types of past tense verbs in class.
-Students were handed out explanation sheets on how to conjugate imperfect tense. In partners, students began conjugating verbs in imperfect tense (see attachment).
-We read a story that included many preterite and imperfect verbs.
-Students have a worksheet for homework that is due Friday 4/13 (see attachment).
