-I talked to students individually about how they did on their oral quizzes.
-Students practiced writing out dollar amounts in Spanish. We practiced with dollars ("dólares"), euros, and pesos. To express cents, you use "centavos" for dollars, and "céntimos" for euros. If you missed class, practice with numbers at home by writing out in Spanish $7.25, €54.75, MEX$28.50, $30.15, €14.99, MEX$66.30, $22.88, €43.70, MEX$71.05 (see me if you have trouble or need help with this).
-Students learned a new conversational question to ask and answer. To ask someone where they're from, you say, "¿De dónde eres?". We practiced responding with, "Soy de Colorado" (I'm from Colorado) or "Soy de los estados unidos" (I'm from the United States).
-Students learned a useful phrase to use: "Habla despacio, por favor" (Speak slowly, please)
-Students reviewed how to express how something fits you. See past lessons for attachments.
-Students learned how to ask for another size if something doesn't fit you well. The word for size is "talla". We practiced asking, "¿Tienes otra talla?" (Do you have another size?)
-Students also learned how to ask for a particular article of clothing by saying "Quiero...por favor". Students worked with asking for clothing in different colors and sizes. If you don't already know them, please review colors and clothing vocabulary at home.
-Homework was given in class. It is due next class period (10/19). See attachment for the worksheet.
