Before School: En la tienda (10/19)

Class Activities:

-Students reviewed how to talk about cost.
-Students reviewed how to express how clothing fits. See past lessons for explanation.
-Students reviewed how to ask for what they're looking for and for the correct size. See previous lesson for explanation.
-Students learned how to respond when a sales attendant asks, "¿Necesitas ayuda?" ("Do you need help?"). You can say, "Si..." and then ask for the item you are looking for.
-FOR FRIDAY: We will be acting out a shopping experience for one another in class on Friday. Each student is to create their own store to "sell" items. Each store should sell at least five items. The items should have specific prices UNDER $50. Students may choose to offer only specific colors or sizes if they wish. Students should either draw the store items on a piece of paper or may choose to bring things in for demonstration. I will hand out dialog sheet to the students on Friday including the questions they will cover in the interaction. Each student will have a turn "shopping" and being the sales attendant for their store.

Comida: menu prices

Class Activities:

Students arrived and completed the activity below.
Circle the one that doesn't make sense.

  1. a) gaseosa b) té c) chocolate d) jugo de naranja
  2. a) manzana b) lechuga c) fresa d) uva
  3. a) puerco b) pollo c) aguacate d) res
  4. a) sandía b) cebolla c) lechuga d) zanahorias
  5. a) pan b) arroz c) ciruela d) papa

Students were given a similar but different partial menu (attached). Each menu only contained half of the pricing information, so students had to ask each other "¿cuánto cuesta el té con limón?" while the other student answered. Once we were done, reviewed menus, definitions and prices as a class.

Tarea: continue to work on vocabulary related to food that we've been working on the last month. Students will be taking a test shortly on food vocabulary.
